damn how did i forget the humiliation of other people calling you racist shit in public? on a subway car there is nowhere to go and nowhere else to look but your lap and your cheeks burn up all red and hot. what compounds it for me is when it’s another PoC saying that stuff. obviously i’m not gonna talk to them about racism because they know it too but HEY it still hurts!
